The BOSS is in – How Melissa McCarthy Lost Weight

Melissa McCarthy will be the first to tell you that her weight has had it’s ups and downs. Mellissa has recently shocked fans by dropping a whopping *50 pounds!  So, what’s the secret to her weight loss?  The star of the new show “The Boss,” let’s everyone in on how she dropped the weight.

“No trick, nothing to tell, just super boring life. You bring it real down, you don’t do anything fun and you go to bed at 7:30 — that’s the trick.” She even joked that her husband, Ben Falcone, often asks her why she’s in her pajamas at 5 p.m.

I truly stopped worrying about it,”  McCarthy said in June.

“I stopped over-analyzing, over-thinking, over-doing anything. I kinda went back to when I was pregnant and I just stopped constantly being worried about it, and I think there’s something to kinda loosening up and not being so nervous and rigid about it that, bizarrely, has worked. I could’ve figured that out before 44, but whatever.”

Why Melissa Made the Change

Melissa has always had a healthy relationship with her body, regardless of her weight or her size.  She’s slimmed down, not for vanity, but rather for health reasons.  She also wants other women to feel empowered, no matter what their size.  That’s why her Seven7 clothing line caters to all sizes.

A good portion of women in America are size 14 and higher. I just try to make clothing that’ll make all women feel really good,” she told Redbook. “When I feel good about my clothes, I’m more patient with my kids. I don’t beep at the guy in his car texting in front of me. I look at the world a little differently. The small happy moments add up. A little bit of joy goes a long way (source).”

Speaking OUT Again “Plus” Sizes

While many women shop at speciality clothing store that are labeled as “Plus Size,”  McCarthy feels that this term is actually segregating women.

“Every time someone says ‘you make a plus-size line’ I just correct them and say, ‘I make clothes for women,'” she recently told E! News. “I’m not making a plus-size line. If a plus-size store, or if a store of certain sizes buys those, that’s what going in there. But on my website … I’m just making women’s clothing. There’s an obsession with categorizing (source).”

How Melissa McCarthy Lost Weight could possibly one of the healthiest ways to approach any long term weight loss plan.  Mind frame is everything when it comes to food.  It’s fair to say that her perspectives have changed.
