The Perfect Pull-Up Review

February 21, 2008 by Adria Ali 11 Comments

I will start by telling you that pull ups have totally changed my physique!  It doesn’t matter if you are doing a “cheater” pull-up, or a “real” pull-up; they will help to change your figure in no time flat!  By working your back muscles; you not only burn HUGE amounts of calories, you also help to create a “V” shape.  This “V” shape creates an optical illusion making your waist look smaller.  Now who doesn’t want to have a smaller looking waist!???

I currently have the perfect push up (courtesy of my brother), I am very pleased with the product and I love pivoting handles.  When I saw the commercial on tv for the perfect pull-up I was over joyed to see that they had created such an ingenious product!  Not only does the perfect pull up have pivoting handles, it also allows you to lower the bar and do various other back exercises as well!  Here are some of the routines which are included with the product……

This next exercise is VERY similar to one that my clients do in the gym.  This exercise is moderately hard for the average person.

Here is an even easier back exercise to do on the perfect pull up …

Similar to the perfect push-up, the pull-up comes with it’s own workout routine that increases over time.  Even if you are the most out of shape person, you can work your way up in repetitions and sets and advance over time.

CONS:  The only negative side that I see to the perfect pull up is that you actually have to bolt it into your door frame.  However, the bar comes out of the frame so that it can be stowed away and out sight.  It’s somewhat expensive, however, if you really do use the product I’m sure it will pay off.

As a personal trainer, I already recommended the perfect push-up to my clients.  Now I will make sure they all know about the new perfect pull-up.  For a chiseled body, increased fat loss, increased strength, energy and muscle, get the perfect pull-up!

I might try the Perfect Push-Up, and now this is something to think about, as well. -Billy

How far apart does the perfect pull-up allow your hands to be while doing the exercise? Or is that dictated by the width of your door frame?

i've been using the perfect pushup for 10 months now with good results and im just wondering if the perfect pull up could be used with the perfect push up on opposite days or would it make my muscles too sore?

You can definitely do pushups and pullups on opposite days, although it's good to take one day of rest each week to allow for some recuperation. And always try to increase the number of repetitions each week, you'll get stronger much faster.

Is there a another way to hook up the perfect pull up without hooking it up to the door frame. The reason I ask this is because, I live in a apartment.

As long as your doorframe is over around 7 and a half feet It should work.. I live in a Apartment aswell it has the exact measurments required for my perfect pullup... but installig the pivots I did run into a problem with a Nail that was exactly where i needed the Pivot to go... actually I jsut got it and thats where im at now.. im going to have to try and move the pivots up a tad or try my bathroom frame.... but to answer your question.. you could technically build a frame useing some wood... or metal I suppose... if you look at steve maxwells 300 workout.. which anyone who has a perfect pullup should definetly checkout because u can do the entire workout series he does (which is amazing) with the perfect pullup.. anyway ya u could build a frame inside your apartment and mount it to that.. you would sjtu haveto make sure its sturdy of course. check out the vieo link i posted with this you will see his aparatus.. you would have to bend your knees for some of it.. but I think that owuld only add to the workout myself

Will you still be able to shut your door with the perfect pullup? It appears that the things that the bar is connected to would interfere with your ability to shut your door.

Oops forgot to ask. How do you determine where to attach it. Is it dependent upon your height and how would people of different heights use the same one?

The infomercial shows ladies using this. Any ladies out there with words of wisdom? I live in apartment also. How difficult to install in doorframe?

I think it is important for your readers to note that the handles are plastic near the joints (silver part of the handle). If you google this, there's been numerous reports of the handles breaking. It is incredibly dangerous. You can seriously damage your knee or fall on your head in an Australian Pullup. This product does gave you a good work out, but it is constructed badly for the kind of money it costs.
