3 Fitness Tips To Look Leaner For Your Holiday Party

     The holidays only come once a year and for many of us that could also mean seeing people (like family) once a year.   No one wants to show up bloated, swollen and with an excess 5 -10 pounds!   If you want to look like you’ve been staying on track, and eating healthy, use these three simple fitness tips to look leaner for your holiday bash!

 

Flush the Water and The Toxins

   If you aren’t already carrying around a huge jug of water to flush all that excess sugar and salt, then GET ONE!  Next Follow this recipe for Jillian Michaels Dandelion tea.    With this recipe you can flush an excess of 5 pounds in a week!

 

Here is Jillian’s Dandelion Tea Recipe: 60 ounces distilled water, one tablespoon of sugar free cranberry juice, one dandelion root teabag, 2 tablespoons lemon juice – allow tea bag to steep, and then over the course of a day, drink the entire 60 ounces of tea       (source).

Ab Circuit – 1 -2 days before your event.   NEWS FLASH, doing abs the SAME DAY as your event, makes you look swollen.   Since you are tearing muscle in order to strengthen, rebuild and grow, muscle fibers become swollen with blood as they repair.   Doing abs the same day doesn’t make you look leaner.  However, personally, I feel that doing them the day before an evet seems to help flush toxins, water, and give them a tight look (much like a corset) before your holiday parties.

*Fitness Tip – If you want to look lean don’t lift the same day!   Give your body 2 days to heal after lifting.   My trainer advice is only do cardio for the 2 days before an event and abs the day before.

Banish Night Time Carbs – This is a general rule of thumb BUT it can also be used in a pinch to loose excess water weight.   Eat all of your carbs during the day and finish off your nightly meal with very low amounts (if any) carbs.   This also goes for alcohol, which will change to sugar!   Try to do this 3-4 days before your event.   However, it will still work 1-2 days before, you just may not flush as much water.
