As you all know I started a great “diet” last week and by the way, it’s totes making me svelte everyday and I’m not starving!
Well, on the said diet, Tim Ferriss urges you to not drink your calories, but coffee is okay. I have never been a huge fan of coffee, due to the caffeine, but I have been turned into a believer. I’ll go into the details in a second, but I want you all to know where my Coffee Inspiration came from this am. It didn’t come from my cup, it came from the fashion world.
The Twiterverse to be exact, from the editor in chief of Harper’s Bazaar, Derek Blasberg.
You see so many uber skinny models/actresses always sipping on some coffee. Am I right or am I right? Maybe they drink it because the effects of the caffeine gives their skinny bodies the energy they need without consuming too many calories? YES!
FitTip Fact #1: Coffee is an appetite suppressant AND low in calories. Don’t add cream or sugar, just a touch of unsweetened almond milk and add a splash of cinnamon for sweetness and viola: A delicious cup of coffee. Try it before you knock it!
I can still hear you all now, “But Bianca, I don’t like caffeine!” That’s fine, you can drink decaf coffee and still reap the benefits like regular coffee drinkers. Studies have shown that coffee contains magnesium and chromium, which help the body use the hormone insulin, which controls blood sugar (glucose). In type 2 diabetes, the body loses its ability to use insulin and regulate blood sugar effectively. So basically coffee wards off diabetes and based on studies on decaf coffee it’s not the caffeine that does this. Whoop Whoop! Bring on the decaf. My favorite decaf in town is from Urth Caffe. I should go get some decaf now and pretend I’m a fashionista like Balsberg.
Twerk it,
Bianca
