Secret Weight Loss Weapon – Dandelion Tea

November 7, 2011 by Adria Ali 4 Comments

The key to unlocking weight loss is controlled by your liver.  When this organ gets bogged down and surrounded by fat cells it  increases your body fat.  Working out and eating right are great ways to shed fat but if you don’t fix the source of the problem it can take you a lot longer to see results.  Dandelion tea cleanses the liver and helps you shed that pesky water weight.

If you’re getting ready for an event this is the schedule I give to my clients

Weeks 1 -2 :  Drink 1 cup of dandelion tea per day.

Weeks 3-4:  Drink 2 cups of dandelion tea per day.

REST and start again 2 weeks later.

Fitness Tips

  • Use lemon juice in your tea to cut the bitter taste.
  • If you like cold drinks better then follow this cranberry / dandelion tea recipes
  • DRINK YOUR WATER!  This tea uses your fluids to flush the toxins out of your body.  So make sure you are drinking enough water so you aren’t dehydrated.
Benefits Of Dandelion Tea
Dandelion contains its fair share of minerals and vitamins, and is rich in vitamin C of course, with its strong antioxidant properties. It also contains the antioxidant vitamin A together with several B vitamins and the sunshine vitamin, vitamin D, which is so important for the absorption of calcium by the kidneys and into the bone structure. The minerals it contains is like an encyclopedia entry of minerals important to the human body. It’s not so much what minerals dandelion contains, as what it doesn’t contain.
Dandelion is also believed to stimulate the flow of bile from the gall bladder to the duodenum, and help promote the digestion of fats and oils, thus alleviating many of the digestive problems associated with a fatty diet. This also appears to have the effect of stimulating the appetite, and dandelion juice is frequently drunk before a meal for these reasons. It is believed to help bladder and kidney stones, and also helps to alleviate infections of the urinary tract.
The list of benefits of dandelion root tea goes on and on.  It’s so long that I would have to write a second article to cover all of it!  For the purpose of weight loss, this has helped tons of clients achieve the body they had been dreaming of!  Use this fitness tip to shed weight over these cold months!

Mike, You can start with 2 if you like. Since it flushes toxins from the body, I like to tell people to start slow then increase. This way your body detoxes slowly.

Do you have any clients who have problems with it increasing stomach reflux?

Occasionally some have problems which is usually due to the lemon. Try taking that out or reducing it and let me know :) Adria
