No one wants fat, however, not many are watching how their body stores muscle.   Lean body plays a huge role in how your body burns calories and fat.   Too much emphasis is placed on the scale and very little is placed on body fat percentages and overall muscle mass.   As a woman in the fitness industry, I see many people struggling to keep weight off, inches down and cellulite at bay.   Glutamine when taken daily allows people to cut their calories and increase their exercise without losing valuable muscle mass.   The benefits of glutamine are endless yet few actually use it to change their body composition.   benefits of glutamine

The Benefits of Glutamine

  • Increases your ability to secrete Human Growth Hormone (the youth hormone), which helps metabolize body fat and support new muscle growth.

This is especially useful for people ‘cutting down’. Especially during summer when you’re trying to get rid of some body fat without losing any muscle. Your small intestines requires the most Glutamine in your body, and your immune system also needs Glutamine because Glutamine levels deplete during workouts, bodybuilders are more susceptible to illnesses – this is why L-Glutamine supplementation is so important, not necessarily to gain more muscle, but for the ‘maintenance’ effects of L-Glutamine (source).

  Benefits of Glutamine My favorite brand right now it s the Jarrows.   I buy at Pharmaca either online or in the store.   I use some in the am (1 teaspoon) after my AM workout and some at night before bed.  This brand is also vegan, gluten free and dairy free (music to my ears).
   The moral of the story is, if you want to cut fat and calories you should be taking this supplement to keep your muscle mass.   If you diet and increase your exercise, you could be losing valuable muscle.  Loss of muscle mass while dieting will lead to “yo -yo weight loss.”   This is due to the fact that diet can acutely lead to muscle wasting as you starve the body of calories to decrease in size.  Taking glutamine can keep your energy levels up, your muscle mass in check and speed up your recovery rate.   Muscle is the fountain of youth, make it your priority!
