We Tried It! – Guru The Natural Energy Drink

As I try to sift out the artificial sweeteners in my diet; I found it to be increasingly difficult to find an energy drink that’s low in carbs and void of aspartame.  After searching the web, I discovered GURU.  This drink has all the benefits of a low calorie beverage, without the chemicals!  Of course, energy drinks shouldn’t be consumed on a daily basis, but when you need a boost this one should be on the top of your list!

The natural ingredients in this product include a powerful combination of panax ginseng, gingko biloba, Echinacea, and guarana.  I personally found this drink to work better then your average energy drink.  I was more focused with no “shaky” feeling.  I had energy but I wasn’t so “buzzed” that I couldn’t sleep at night.  The low calorie drink only had 5 calories and 125 mg of caffine per serving.  As opposed to other beverages, this one is only lightly carbonated.

Although, I loved the very “natural high,” the flavor of the drink was a tad strong.  However, after drinking 2-3 of them I began to like the flavor and the taste of some of the herbal ingredients.

This product can be found at health food stores and local markets.  It sells for about $2.00 per 16oz can.  It is predominantly sweetened with stevia ( something that is hard to find!).  If you’re looking for an energy drink that doesn’t destroy your body and burn out your immune system, then this is it!  Your energy shouldn’t come at the price of your health so chose wisely!
