Some may think that a fork that tells you when to eat is ridiculous while others think it’s creative and some what genius. The pace at which we eat has a lot to do with our weight. You can question your own eating habits also to get a better idea of how this product may help users. Do you chew your food long enough? Do you pause between bites? Do you set your fork down to give yourself more time to process the food your eating? I’ll admit that as a trainer we are constantly in a rush to eat our food since we are always on the go and training clients back to back. Over the years I became a professional speed eater! That has been to my detriment and has become a very apparent problem when I sit down to eat with others. I think a product like the smart fork could retrain my eating patterns.

This utensil is the first of it’s kind and made waves at this years CES. One thing this fork doesn’t do is count calories. So make sure you aren’t eating unhealthy food!!
The price of the HAPIlabs fork is still unknown and it hasn’t hit the market just yet. For a more rounded view of your health they also offer an activity tracking clip that syncs to the program online.
Could smart forks be the wave of the future?? Could the timing of our eating change some of the obesity epidemic around the world?? We will have to see! For now and until this product is released start paying attention to how your taking your bites of food.
