If you look carefully at your local restaurants you will see the nutrition facts placed on the table. I always seem to have to search for them ( I think they do this on purpose). Recently, I went to Coco’s for breakfast and I was shocked to find that some of the healthiest things on the menu were extremely bad for you. If you have some background in nutrition and you don’t mind altering the foods you can definitely change them up and make them better for you.
However, if you are the average American, you wouldn’t think to even look at these hidden nutrition facts. You also have to pay close attention when making your selections based on the wording. Some of the breakfast items list the main course but they don’t list the sides. I also noticed that the nutrition facts ONLY list the saturated fats. They never seem to list the total fat.
The real question is whether this changes the way people order. I know it does for me… but not necessarily for everyone. Based on a survey in New York; it changes 80% of people’s orders. Will it change yours?
